Our Story

It began in 2002 when founder Jesse Walcutt, backed by his grandmother Jeannie Stanford, opened the first Jesse's Xtreme Sports Bar in Pompano Beach. The walls were lined with snowboards and skate decks, celebrating the extreme sports culture Jesse loved.

In 2006, they planted enduring roots in Margate, coinciding with a new partnership — Jesse and his wife, Jennifer Scaletta, who became the heart of the hospitality. Over time, ownership passed fully to them.

In 2021, longtime General Manager Lisa Machado joined as a partner, cementing that this bar is run by the family that works here every day.

In 2022, they rebranded to Jesse's Sports Bar, Grill, & Liquor Store — not because they lost their edge, but because they found their soul. They realized they weren't just a niche bar; they were Margate's essential hangout.

Today, by day and early evening, they're a family-friendly grill famous for massive cheesesteaks, award-winning wings, and handmade blue cheese and ranch dressing. As night falls, it seamlessly shifts into a vibrant local bar with 15 TVs and no bad seats.

For over two decades, they've invested in the community — sponsoring local softball and rugby teams, charity golf tournaments, hosting First Friday Comedy Shows, monthly Dungeons & Dragons gatherings, bingo, Sunday football, theme nights, and game nights.
